Lexie Griffin is using her passion for health and nutrition to raise money so that an idea can be turned to a reality, benefiting people’s diets.
She’s volunteering to sell Melbourne Cup Racing Carnival pins to raise money for SecondBite, which redistributes fresh food to groups including the Ascot Vale Special School, Doutta Galla Community Health and St Joseph’s Flexible Learning Centre.
The Monash University nutrition and dietetics student had been undertaking a placement at the charity when she decided to volunteer for the racing carnival.
The lapel pins will be sold by volunteers for $5 until November 9.
