There will soon be something different about the police badges in Sandusky.
They’ll be the same size, shape and design, but they’ll be pink!
What started as a small way to show support and spread awareness during Breast Cancer Awareness Month may become a tradition for some police officers.
Earlier this year, Police Chief John Orzech suggested the pink badges and hoped the idea might catch on.
Now, nearly the entire police force plans to wear them in October.
Orzech said the custom badges are sure to spark conversation between officers and residents.
The officers used their own money or their annual uniform allotment to buy the pink custom police badges.
